I was in a world where people were being persecuted and killed randomly. Everything was tense as people were going through hardship as their close friends and family were killed off. I was friends with this girl who lost her best friend and she was easily angered by me. We were walking on this trip of sorts and I forgot what I did to her but she was fuming. She kept trying to punch me square in the face but held back. I tried to be nice and fixed her stuff around her but that made her even more mad. Eventually I made her laugh after several attempts and tried to calm her down and it worked. The dream moves on to me and this other person trying to escape. We made it far enough that the dreamscape had completely changed and had become distorted, things on the floor were scattered about and there were flaps on doors that didn’t make sense. The person I was with was quite and adventurous, brave but careless fellow. They tried to turn on every light switch we passed even when we could hear someone there. I closed every light switch after them and urged them to be more logical. They would turn around and giggle at me every time. Because of them we got found out by, I’m assuming, the man who ran this world. He didn’t look very powerful and was slightly skinny and didn’t have that big of a build. He had access to a lot more than we had though. He had a machine gun and was trying to shoot us with it. Looking back now it looks like he was aiming around me more than shooting at me. I armed myself with a metal pipe and started hitting him. He ran and dangled himself off the roof and was aiming into the window. I tried my best to either knock him down, kill him or disarm him. Eventually I succeeded and he put all his weapons down and suddenly became casual with us. Because I thought he was a threat I tried to de-escalate by joking with him about the guns and how I wanted to take them. He invited us to dinner in this dark gloomy room. The reckless person from before and another tween aged boy sat around me. We sat and ate the food. There was a gun at the table and I remembered having the urge to shoot him the whole time. I talked to him and aimed the gun at things behind him like the window because I wanted to test if the gun worked. He told me how to hold it properly and I shot a round, damaging his window. He sarcastically told me how he would have to pay for that, and I started apologising profusely. The table was apparently outside now, the backdrop was the balcony of my childhood house. We were outside and it was sunny. He said something in a discussion where he joked about the term you only live once. I countered and said actually, I believe you live twice. I explained that after I die, I believe that I will be in a state of consciousness. He held in a snicker, and I discussed a bit more. People started to leave. I leaned in a bit closer now and asked, “so I take it you don’t believe in an afterlife?” He shook his head no and we discussed further. Eventually I asked about himself and his background, he revealed to me that he grew up in a foster home and shared another tragic detail. I apologised and apologised again for my tone as I sounded sarcastic and reiterated that I actually meant it and that I was sorry he went through such a horrible thing. He was fine and continued. This lady, which I’m assuming was his significant other, came in to eat and sit down with us. She asked about me and said that he strongly enjoyed my company and said he loved me (in a friendly way). And I felt the same.
